RYA/MCA Courses

RYA Training Courses

RYA Training Courses are world renowned as a hallmark of competence and confidence by commercial operators and leisure users alike. RYA training with Marine Matters is a choice to work with a training centre that specialises in what they do best - Powerboating and Motor Cruising RYA training.

Which course? If you know which course you wish to enroll on use the course ladder on the left. If you need assistance in making the choice use the RYA course map on the right.

Commercial Training

Commercial training is at the heart of the Marine Matters training experience where we provide RYA/MCA commercial training for superyacht crews, wind farm operatives, Marine Police, Royal Navy, The Border Force, Environment Agency and Harbour Authorities to name a few. Training can be provided for just one member of staff or the whole company - on your vessel or ours.

MCA Training

MCA Training will become an integral part of the your working life once you reach YM standard. The course ladder to the left can provide the basic requirements for STCW training as well as bespoke pre course training for OOW training before completing MCA navigation and Radar course. Marine Matters are the sole provider of the Warsash Superyacht Academies RYA training, chosen for our rigourous approach to the seamanship and the results we have achieved in the past 15 years using the best motor cruising training vessel on the south coast, possibly in all of the UK.

RYA Family Training Courses

RYA Family Training Courses are a Marine Matters specialty. Ensuring that you are all involved in family training in a safe way with the assistance of one of our professional RYA instructors is the key to family boating success. Watch your children grow in confidence before your eyes as they learn new skills, from as young as 8 years old.

Own boat and bespoke training

Training onboard your own vessel can be provided at a time suitable to you, making it the perfect choice for gaining certification and experience aboard a familiar boat in familiar waters. Practical & theory courses can be provided, whether they be part of the RYA programme or completely individual to meet your needs. Own boat training is particularly effective for family training enabling you to tailor the day around your family needs and learning to work together as a team for when you go out on your maiden voyage together. All our instructors are "child friendly" and where required carry valid DBS checks (previously known as CRB checks)
