RYA Sea Survival 1 Day Training Course

RYA Sea Survival 1 Day Training Courses are designed to teach the basics of sea survival in a safe environment to ensure that you have the skills to deal with a problem should it arise. Our professional RYA sea survival Instructors will teach you how to correctly wear, inflate and swim in your life jacket, how to launch a life raft and best boarding techniques as well as provide insight into sea survival techniques by utilising the equipment in the life raft.

Viking life raft and life jackets are used for all our RYA sea survival training to ensure that your training experience closely resembles the equipment carried on board modern boats. If you wish to use your own life jacket in the pool to personalise the realism we will service your life jacket and provide a service certificate for you on completion as part of the course fee (£25 surcharge for hydrostatically deployed LJ due to the cost of the operating head).

Non Swimmers also attend our RYA Sea Survival training courses. Arguably the most important group to train, we will ensure that all non swimmers have a safety swimmer with them at all times when they are in the water and we can tailor the RYA sea survival course requirements so that you get the most from the pool session. It is important to remember that nothing will be forced on you so if you want to get out of the water at any stage you may do so - primarily this is supposed to be fun and educational so we do not want to frighten anyone.

RYA Sea Survival 1 Day Training Course Fee Includes:

  • Life raft for the wet drill
  • Life jackets for the wet drill
  • RYA Sea Survival Handbook (G43) - worth £10.99
  • All RYA instruction by a specialist RYA Sea Survival instructor
  • RYA Sea Survival course certification on successful completion of RYA training
  • All safety staff, including one to one assistance for non-swimmers
  • Pool hire

Please note we will provide tea, coffee and biscuits but not lunch. We encourage you to bring a pack lunch as there is no food available on site at the pool. This course is a full day so your RYA Sea Survival Instructor will stop for a short lunch break only.
